Lancom 1722 V6.06 Reset after being connected to ADSL

Beitrag von Mtommy1984 »

Hi all,
I've a Lancom 1722 Annex A (oh, if someone'd be so kind to explain me what's the difference between annex a and b ^^') with firmware V 6.06.
I've configured an Internet connection with PPPoA protocol. Everything seems woriking fine, the online light goes on permanent green, the ADSL light start blinking in orange, then it remains orange for a couple of seconds, and after that the 1722 reboot by itself. I've checked more or less everything to see if there's some kind of "protection" that enable an automatical reboot of the device, but I haven't found anything. ADSL configuration seems to be right, as well as the other configurations of the device.
Is it a firware problem?

I thank you all for the attention and i wish you a nice day.

Greetings

Tommy

P.s.

Sorry that I wrote in english ^^'b

Annex A: ADSL over POTS (if you have a normal telephone line)
Annex B: ADSL over ISDN

Which version you have, you can see in the LANmonitor in the System-Informations or in the properties of your 1722 in LANconfig.

That is not correct at all..

For instance, here in Germany there are two types of telephone "connections", the analogue one and the digital one (ISDN)
Both are realized over Annex B!
In Switzerland or Austria for example I think they use Annex A (and Annex B?)...

Hi,

in Germany the DT only uses Annex B for a simple reason: only one type of interface. No need for any support if the customer is switched between ISDN and analog. Only one type of splitter, only one modem type.

Annex B differes from Annex A in the frequency ranges used for ADSL up and downstream. Annex A used bin 6 to 31 for upstream and the higher bins for downstream. Annex B uses bin 32 to 63 for upstream and the bins 64 and higher for downstream.
