Nach Absturz VLANs defekt

Hallo.

Nach einer Betriebszeit von über 150 Tagen ist Vorgestern unser 9100 aus nicht erkennbarem Grund abgestürzt. Danach waren zwei VLANs defekt.

Der 9100 läuft mit einem 7100 im VRRP-Verbund.

Der Fehler stellt sich so da, das die virtuelle IP nicht mehr erreichbar ist. Die physikalischen IPs der beiden Router sehr wohl. Damit ist für die Maschinen in dem VLAN der Gateway weg.

Was bisher versucht wurde.

Reboot
letzte Konfig zurück spielen
betroffenen VLANs inklusive Netz und VRRP-Einträgen gelöscht und neu konfiguriert.

Ist die Kiste defekt oder nur ein Software-Problem? Jemand eine Idee wie man der Sache beikommt?

Da die Hotline auch mit den Schulter zuckt, und nicht weiss was da nicht passt, werde ich dann wohl eine Garatiefall draus machen.

Moin,

ohne ein paar genauere Informationen (entsprechende Statustabellen aus VRRP/VLAN/IP, show binding...) und vielleicht ein paar Traces oder Wireshark-Mitschnitte wird da kaum jemand weiter drauf reagieren - so klingt das für viele vermutlich zu sehr nach 'ich habe keine Ahnung, irgendetwas ist kaputt und helft mir jetzt'. Dazu kommt noch, daß VRRP hinreichend exotisch ist, daß vermutlich kaum einer der Forumsteilnehmer eigene Erfahrungen damit hat. Im Zweifelsfall also eher etwas für den LANCOM-Support und nicht für das Forum...ob Du da einen Garantiefall draus machen kannst, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Die Hardware ist mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit nicht defekt, wenn nur die VRRP-Adressen nicht funktionieren. Vieleicht ist das Gerät nicht richtig konfiguriert, vielleicht bist Du auf einen Bug im LCOS gelaufen, der behoben werden muß - aber ohne weitere Informationen kann man das alles nicht sagen.

Ich kann mich zumindest nicht erinnern, in den letzten Tagen diesbezüglich einen Bugeintrag gesehen zu haben - wenn die Kollegen im Support nicht weiter wissen, dann machen sie das üblicherweise...

Dann hat der Kollege eben keinen Eintrag gesetzt. Was weiss ich. Wir haben das Problem auch nur kurz angesprochen. Der junge Mann war ia schon mit dem Problem beim VPN-Aufbau überfordert. "Warum kommt bei einer VPN mit Aggressiv-Mode diese beim Verbindungsaufbau dynamisch rüber?"

Aber zum Anfang.

Da mir die Hotline nicht helfen will, darf, kann, muss ich natürlich schauen wie ich das Problem löse. Nach 10 Jahren Lancom, x Routern bei Kunden und zwei Gateways bei uns im RZ komme ich eigentlich ganz gut mit den Dinger klar.

In dem Fall habe ich wirklich keine Idee/Ahnung, nicht mal wo ich bei Traces etc. ansetzen könnte. Ein Konfigurationsproblem kann es nicht sein, da es bis zum Absturz am Sonntag ja funktioniert hat. Ein Bug im LCOS, da läuft sein gut 8 Monaten die 8.60 drauf. Wie gesagt alles ohne Problem.

Hallo synetcon,

kannst du denn wenigstens einen Auszug aus den relevanten Konfigdaten für
dein VRRP liefern? Sprich die VRRP Tabelle beider Router, VLAN Modul ggf., IP-
Netzwerke.
GGf Routing und Backuptabellen.

Ich hatte in der Vergangenheit schon öfters Fälle, wo es halt lief, aber nach
Abstürzen, Neustarts etc. nicht mehr hoch lief. D.H. es existierte ein genereller
Software oder Konfigurationsfehler, der aber erst durch den Absturz sichtbar
wurde.

Sieht doch erstmal ganz ok aus. Wie ist das Netzwerk aufgebaut, Zentraler
Switch zwischen den beiden Routern oder haben diese eine Direktverbindung?

Zwei 48 Port Switche. Alles läuft über VLANs. Jeder Router hängt mit WAN und LAN-Port an einem Switch. Die Switche sind verbunden. Die Server sind mit jedem Switch verbunden.

Vielleicht liegt hier die Ursache:

In dieser Konstellation brauchst du in beiden Lancom Routern kein VLAN Modul
aktiv haben. Entsprechend kannst du auch alle Listen unter VLAN Zugehörigkeit
entfernen.

Es reicht, wenn unter TCP/IP den Netzen je eine VLAN ID zugewiesen ist. Im
Switch steht ja dieser "Uplink"Port garantiert als Trunk hinterlegt für jede VLAN
ID.

Das es alles mal funktioniert hat ist keine Garantie dafür, dass kein
Konfigurationsfehler vorliegt/vorlag. Der aktuelle VLAN Tagging Mode im
Lancom wäre vielleicht noch interessant für LAN-1.

Ansonsten meine ich mal hier im Forum gelesen zu haben, dass es bei
"unglaublich" vielen VLAN-IDs in Zusammenhang mit VRRP zu Problemen
kann in Kombination mit bestimmten Firmware-Ständen. Verwende mal die
Suche, bzw. aktualisiere zwischenzeitlich die Firmware auf 8.62 für beide
Router.

Das VLAN-Modul hatte ich nur anfangs aktiviert. Laut Hotline müssen aber trotzdem dort die VLN-IDs eingetragen werden. So eine Ansage von den Fachleuten hinterfrage ich natürlich nicht unbedingt.

Die VLANs sind glöscht. Fehler besteht ab leider immer noch. Habe aber gerade festgestellt, das aus den beiden betroffenen VLANs überhaupt keine virtuelle Gateway IP erreicht wird, also auch nicht die der anderen VLANs.

Mit Firmware hatte ich schon genaug Problem. An das Dilemma mit den 7111 darf ich gar nicht denken.

Die 8.62RU2 habe ich schon vor Wochen eingespielt und wieder runtergenommen, weil damit ich der Reverse-Loopbackup (schimpft es sich glaube ich) nicht mehr funktioniert hat. Die RU5 mag ich gar nicht versuchen.

Hallo.

Jetzt haben wir endlich einen sauber definierten Zustand. Mit dem Firmware-Update auf die 8.80, geht VRRP gar nicht mehr. Damit kann man doch jetzt wenigstens etwas anfangen. Vorher war ja böd, da ging ja immer nur bei dem eine oder andere von den 34 VLANs die virtuelle IP nicht und die Sevrer hingen in der Luft. Jetzt war gerade das ganze RZ tot und 60 Server offline.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch Lancom. Habt Ihr mal wieder den Vogel abgeschossen. Wie blöd seit Ihr eigentlich? Sorry für den Ausdruck, aber etwas passenderes fällt mir gerade nicht ein.

Grosse Fresse das schon die Mundwinkel einreissen aber eine Scheisse nach der anderen bauen und dann 5 Tickets verlangen um Eure eigenen Fehler suchen zu lassen.

Was ist eigentlich aus dem Bug geworden das die DHCP-Broadcast nicht weiter geleitet werden? Muss ja einer sein, weil der Techniker hat ja in der Konfig keiner Fehler gefunden. Bei einem unsere Kunde geht das jetzt schon ein dreiviertel Jahr nicht.

Aber das ist doch Lancom wurscht.

Habt Ihr eigentlich schon mal eine Firmware veröffentlicht die funktioniert hat? Ihr schafftt es ja regelmässig selbst Grundfunktionen zu schrotten. Was ich in den 11 Jahren Lancom mitgemacht habe, spottet jeder Beschreibung. Oft genug sind die Geräte ja dann auch nicht mehr erreichbar, und man muss wie heute nach Wien fahren.

Aber ich höre jetzt auf, sonst komme ich gar nicht mehr ins Bett, obwohl obwohl ich genug Stoff hätte um ein Buch zuschreiben.

Ihr seit solch Armleuchter und bildet Euch noch etwas darauf ein. Es ist unfassbar.

Das merkst Du JETZT ERST?!?

Wir sind auch LANCOM-User der ersten Stunde, (z.B. ELSA ISDN-Adapter, LANCOM 1000 mit BNC-Anschluß, der in einigen Installationen auch wirklich gebraucht wurde). Die Dinger waren zu ihrer Zeit richtungsweisend und saugut.

Gestorben ist LANCOM für uns spätestens, als das Rumgeeire mit IPv6 losging. Das brauchen wir seit einigen Jahren für Neuinstallationen produktiv. Zu dieser Zeit wurden auch ein paar andere Sachen in der Produktpolitik immer merkwürdiger.

Glücklicherweise sind wir als Unternehmen inzwischen in einer recht angenehmen finanziellen Lage, so dass es kein Problem ist, auch wesentlich teurere Systeme anzuschaffen.

Bei WLAN, VOIP, UTM und natürlich Switchen haben wir deshalb nie auf LANCOM gesetzt und wenn ich mir manche Beiträge hier ansehe, war das auch sehr gut so (ich will jetzt nicht sagen, dass es mit anderen Firmen keine Probleme gibt, aber ab einem bestimmten Einkaufsvolumen hat man auch z.B. bei Cisco oder HP recht guten Durchgriff auf spezielle Supportdienstleistungen).

Inzwischen haben wir dort, wo ISDN keine Rolle mehr spielt, LANCOM überall rausgetan und können auch unsere Partner (öffentlicher Sektor) mit passenden Ausschreibungstexten versorgen, auf die dann nur die richtigen Hersteller passen

Moin,

tja, dann eben tschuess. Wer in dieser Form ausfallend wird, dem haben wir auch keine Lust mehr zu helfen. Gibt genug andere Kunden, die konstruktiv bleiben und denen man dann auch gerne hilft, ihr Problem zu loesen - auch wenn's schwieirg wird und laenger dauert. Die Leute hier im Forum maxchen das alles freiwillig, und ich muss mir keine Leute antun, die derartige Postings ablassen.

Lieber Alfred,

Schwierig und länger? Es ist unaushaltbar und es läuft hier seit gut vier Jahren Scheisse. Und immer dann wenn ich die Hotline etwas frage oder eine neue Firmware aufspiele. Nach dem Debakel mit den beiden 7111 (falsche Empfehlung von Lancom, den Anforderungen überhaupt nicht gewachsen) und anfangs völlig unbrauchbaren Firmware habe wir den 7100 und 9100 als Probestellung uns geben lassen um ausgibig zu testen. Wie man sieht, macht aber Lancom schon funktionierende Feature auch im Nachhinein kaputt.

Und wer muss abends wieder ins Auto und hunderte von Kilometern fahren? Keiner von Lancom. Ich, der Kunde muss die Suppe jedes Mal auslöffeln.

Jetzt habe wir im RZ wieder zwei Router die nicht funktionieren, die sich im Fehlerfall nicht automatisch ersetzen, sondern manuelles VRRP notwendig ist.

Und Du muckierst Dich weil ich verbal etwas grob werde? Ich glaube Du bist nach 11 Jahren auch betriebsblind. Ihr/Die von Lancom sollten Euch was schämen. Ständig so einen Mist abzuliefern. Und dann diese unsägliche Arroganz (nicht alle), als hätte Ihr die Weisheit mit Löffeln gefressen. Weisst Du, man kann eine grosse Fresse haben, aber dann muss auch was kommen. Sonst nennt man das umgangssprachlich Grossmaul.

Was Ihr aber schon verbockt habt und was ich schon für falsche Empfehlungen bekommen haben, darüber könnte ich wie schon gesagt, ein Buch schreiben. Mindest 2/3 meiner Support Fälle enden in Firmwareproblemen, Bugs oder Konigurationsfehler durch falsche Aussagen der Spezielisten von der Hotline.

Wenn du meinst mich sperren zu müssen, tu dir keine Zwang an. Zensur ist immer ein beliebter Weg unbequeme Leute zum Schweigen zu bringen.

Macht ja Lancom nicht anderes. Obwohl wir/ich seit 11 Jahren Partner sind, selbst 4 Router im Einsatz haben und bei allen unseren Kunden die Dinger stehen, verweigert mir Lancom auch sein ein paar Monaten den Support. Ja Leute, so ganz gehen. Nicht mal bei Fällen die unsere Kunde betreffen wird mehr geholfen. Das aber sicher 2/3 der Probleme Lancom Probleme sind, davon wollen sie nichts wissen. Monate lang habe ich mit den unmöglichsten Problemen bei den 7111 gekämpft, ich bin den sicher voll auf die Nerven gefallen, habe x Mails an den Supportleiter und an den GF geschrieben, aber mit der Firmwareversion 7.80 waren alle wie weg geblasen. Komisch nicht?

Anfangs haben die Schlaumeier jedem der drei Module Routing, VPN und Firewall erlaubt 100 Prozent CPU-Leistung anzufordern. Was war das Ergebnis? Wurden alle VPN-Verbindungen getrennt und mussten neu aufgebaut werden, und wir hatten jede Menge VPN-Verbindungen, riss sich das VPN-Modul alle Rechnenleistung an sich. Was war das Ergebis? Vorallem das Routing (auch zwischen den VLANs) brach zusammen. Dadurch teilweise wieder die VPNs. Toller Käse.

Die Mails in der ich Lancom auf den Schwachsinn hingewiesen habe, habe ich noch hier. Haben Sie denn kurze Zeit später gross als neue Errungenschaft verkauft. Ja, so macht man aus Dummheit ein neues Feature oder aus Scheisse gute Propaganda.

Aber was werden meine Post schon ändern? Durch ihr ausgeklügeltes Ticketsystem können sie ja alles ananlysieren, nur beim beheben oder keinen Mist mehr machen scheiterts.

Hallo synetcon,

ich kann natürlich die Wut verstehen, wenn man zig KM fährt wegen Software-
Fehler etc. Ist alles nicht so toll, aber die Leute hier im Forum können auch
nichts dafür, ist alles ehrenamtlich, da sollte man die Tonlage gegenüber den
Leuten hier schon kontrollieren. Außerdem weiß jeder Informatiker, dass es
keine bugfreie Firmware gibt.

Wir selbst haben einen 4 Stunden Vertrag zu Lancom, letzten Freitag auch
einen Fehler in der 8.80 festgestellt, gemeldet mit brauchbaren Tracen, am
Montag hatte ich den funktionierenden Bugfix im Postkasten.

Nur zur Info: VRRP erst einmal in einer simplen Konstellation mit 3 Routern, 2
ID hat die Woche bei mir problemlos geklappt.
