3550 ...No response...please help
Good morning everyone.....
sorry if I write in English but I don't speak German.
After many years with only UMTS profiles active I now got ADSL and after changing the wizard and configurations for the WAN my router has become unaccessible.no response (?)
I have the latest LCOS.
The power button flashes green and red.....even though I have no cost limits...
A message like this once popped up : 'SNMP access is locked'...(Simple Network Management Protocol).
I tried to reset the router to original settings by pressing reset for more than 5 seconds but nothing happened.
Can anyone suggest me what I can do?
Thank you!

Hi,
a red/green blinking Power-LED is usually a sign for a hardware defect.
If the warranty of you device is expired, you can open the case.
Check if the WLAN card sits tight in the socket.
Connect a serial Cable to the Outband Connector found on the right side of the 3850 board.
You need a serial cable with MiniDIN on the LANCOM side and DSub9 on the PC side. Pls. also see here: Aixtema Shop
With this cable connected, you can check if there are any error-messages displayed on the console output (terminal-program: 8N1, 115200).
Ciao

Hi,
a red-green blinking power LED is a sign for an insecure
configuration, i.e. no password set and configuration access
from WAN and/or WLAN allowed. A hardware defect is
signalled by a power LED blinking only in red.
Best regards
Alfred

Thank you!!!
ok....insecure configuration, yes!
But why it doesn't let me configure it?
When I try and configure with LANConfig it says...'Checking' and then 'No response.
It only allows me to edit the wizards and the configurations.
I tried with the browser and Telnet but it doesn't find the router anymore.
Anyway I contacted the 'support service' at Lancom and I'm waiting for their reply.
Lancon routers are not so common in Italy so I hope to get some help somewhere.
I really trust the router because I had it for years and there never was a problem....that is maybe why I never learnt much about it!

Thank you for helping!!
I solved it thankfully.
It kept asking me for the 'access data' and login information.
I kept typing the password that I thought was the right one.
But really there was nothing to type in...there is no password!!
I know that I must look so stupid to you all and in fact I feel so stupid.
Is there a way to get rid of the flashing of the power led without having a password??
Thanks again and please excuse me for wasting your time.

No sorry, but you have to set a password to switch the LED to static green. Is there a way to get rid of the flashing of the power led without having a password??

Just for the record: I noticed that in some versions of LCOS 7.8 (i.e. 7.82.RU2 and/or RU4) the factory reset is not applied properly. After pressing the reset button for five seconds, all LEDs stay red but the device will not reboot to factory default.
If this occurs (LEDs stay red like forever), disconnect power, wait some seconds, reconnect power again and wait until the device has finished booting. Power LED will now blink green/red (=no passwd). Apply factory reset again by pressing reset button for five seconds. This time, device will behave normally.
I did not encounter this issue with LCOS 7.82RU6, though.

Martin
